What do I need to start my own radio station?

We provide a complete solution for you to start you own internet radio station. All the tools are included in all of our plans. You will also receive Dj software, & everything required so that your listeners can tune in to your radio station. All you need is a computer and an internet connection.

Do you offer a free trial?

Absolutely. All of our plans are free for 7 days.

Can I play music?

Our service is set up to play all media in mp3 format. A Shoutcast mp3 license and encoder is included with all plans which enables you to broadcast any content as long as it is in mp3 format. If you do play music we also have a ‘shazam’ style system in place which will automatically gather album and track artwork and display it on your radio page.

What about talk radio?

Talk radio works great with our network. Of course you will just need to have a built or external microphone. You can also set up the service to have guests call in via your facebook messenger or skype service.

Am I able to run adverts and make money?

Yes you sure can. Most broadcasts include some type of advertising at regular intervals, from sponsored advertisements to simple station identification or jingle and or songs tracks. The Interval playlist type that allows you to automate the inclusion of such advertisements into your stream at regular intervals.

Will I have a control panel?

Yes indeed! Each plan includes a control panel. The control panel is a feature control centre for you to manage your radio station.

Which file formats can I use?

Support mp3 format.

Do I need special software to broadcast live?

No we include everything with our plans that you will need. If you choose to broadcast live from your PC you will need to install our software. The entire setup takes 5-10 minutes.

What is autoDJ?

With auto DJ the streaming is carried out from the The Radio Station network servers. Simply just upload your mp3s, create a playlist, and start the service. You can shuffle, play in a particular order and even carry out playlist scheduling. Switch off your PC and let us do the broadcasting for you.

Do I need a microphone?

Though a microphone is not necessary for music broadcasting, either a built in microphone or an external microphone is needed for talk shows.

Can people listen to my station on their phones?

We provide a free app to clients on our ” Premium Station ” plans. The free app can be downloaded by your listeners via the Apple app store on iPhones or the Google Play store via any Android device. Our html5 player will also work with all mobile devices.

II already have my own website. Can I add my embed my radio on it?

We provide a media player, requests feature, recently played and now playing feature which can all be embeded onto your own website.

Can I have other DJs from other locations broadcast on my station?

You can create as many DJ usernames as you like. You can also set their access levels if you do not want them to access all the admin features. They can then connect and carry out their show at set times or upload their show to the autoDJ system.

Can I carry out telephone calls and interviews with listeners?

You sure can. Our system can be set up to broadcast all audio from your computer. You can then attach a phone to your computer to broadcast calls. You can also use Facebook Messenger & Skype. With Skype or Facebook Messenger no cables are required.

Can I check how many listeners I have?

Our control panel includes complete statistics and history of your listeners. This includes listening hours, geographical details, and device measurements.

Will I have difficulties setting up the service?

We are very confident that our step by step tutorials will make it a breeze to set up our service. If you do however find yourself having difficulties ask our team to remotely install your radio station via teamviewer.

What is your uptime like?

We promise and guarantee a 99.99% uptime. This uptime is in our service level agreement. If you find your uptime goes below this we will refund for that time period the servers were down.
